Hard money loans, also known as private money loans, are loans secured by real estate, in the same way a mortgage is used for a home purchase or refinance. Hard money loans differ from traditional loans in the source from which the money originates to fund the loan. Traditional loans are funded by institutional investors whereas hard money loans are funded from private sources.
This is where we get our name. Primary Source Lending offers its own funds to lend and as such it has greater speed and flexibility to close loans to individuals and businesses that do not meet the traditional guidelines and restrictions of traditional loans. Primary Source Lending is the private source for funds in Utah.
Hard money loans generally differ in the length of the loan as well. Hard money is commonly used as a bridge before a long-term traditional or bank loan. This is why hard money is also often called a Bridge Loan.
